I know everyone probably hates "What did this song use" questions but
I'm going to mix it up with an esoteric band.

In Blue Öyster Cult's "Then Came The Last Days Of May", the vocals,
snare and cymbals (that I can tell) are all run through a reverb and it
makes the sound very ephemeral. It's one of my favourite tracks from them.

Was it a plate? If so (and if not), what would be a good recreation of
this type of reverb, hard or soft, for under $500?
Right now I use a MIDIverb II and some VSTs and haven't been able to
recreate the sound.
It's almost like a verb and phaser, I just can't get it.

Any help is appreciated.

Take care,
Des

it was probably a plate reverb. if you have a UAD-1 card, look into
their plate reverb plugin. a lot of people have said they did a good
job with that plugin
