I have been looking around for a dSLR for a while now. I have my eyes
set on a Canon EOS 20D. I'm trying to find a good deal out there.
Does anybody have any suggestions where I might be able to find a good
deal on the net or otherwise? (I know right now Canon has some
rebates.)

Well, 10.2 MP for $1700, actually. But quite a nice piece of gear,
at least on paper.

I doubt very much Canon is napping, as the 5D is also quite a
nice piece of gear. Rather, they probably felt that announcing
a new prosmer camera just in time to miss the Christmas season would
hurt sales of existing products like the 20D.

If they feel the need, I have no doubt that Canon could respond
by PMA even if they don't have anything on the drawing board
already.

Why particularly the 20D?

Maybe, another make or model will do just as well, and be less money.
There's not that much difference in image quality between 6 and 8 MP.
Then, of course, there's always a used last year's model.
