Software to convert VOB to mpeg. URGENT! |

Hi,
I have a VOB file and I have to convert it to mpeg.
Can you tell me what software makes it, please?

Try Renaming it . Just change the extention to .mpeg.

That may work, and it may not depending on the software. It can lead
to other problems due to the additional information that is in a .vob
that is not defined in the .mpg envelope. It may be worth a shot
though.
The safest bet is to use a program such as Womble or VideoRedo to
convert it. Another is to use the freeware program VobEdit to demux
the .vob into elemental streams and then remux.

The VOB file is not the exact same as an MPEG file - there are some
differences.

That's one way to get around the problem of top posting - just delete
everything in the previous post.

Get hold of a trial version of Womble or VideRedo if you don't already have
them, load the files in - join them up, edit any bits out and export as a
MPEG2 Program file. These programs don't re-encode normally so the process
is quite quick.
Otherwise you can just change the .vob extension to mpg. Most times this
will work without problems but bear in mind the vob file can contain a whole
lot of additional information that may cause synching problems - but that's
pretty rare from my experience. |
