Ths looks like a very advanced group, so I hope you don't mind me asking
some very novice questions.

I'm looking to buy a new digital camera this weekend. I need something
VERY simple to work (I'm extremely tech-challenged!) I want something
fairly inexpensive, and I want to use it primarily for eBay.

What I had, (until I dropped it and broke it the other day) was a Sony
Mavica FD200. I loved the ease of use with that, using the floppy disks,
but it was only a 2MP and I want at least a 3MP this time, and I don't
want to spend $300 again. My computer does not have a card reader, (and
I wouldn't know how to install or use one anyway) so it needs to be a
camera that I can just plug a USB cord into the computer and upload.

Obviously, for eBay, I want clear photos with no icons. And since I
take most of my pics indoors at night, something that will take good
pics in that atmosphere without an elaborate lighting setup. The Mavica
wasn't great for lower lghting situations and using the flash I had a
lot of wash-out.

What I was just looking at is a Fujifilm FinePix A330--on sale at Radio
Shack for $149. I read all the specs for it, but they might have just as
well been written in Greek, Hebrew or Sanscrit for all I understood.

I went to Steve's digital camera review, but since I really don't know
what all the specs mean , I didn't get much out of that.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! PS--Is it digital zoom or
optical zoom that is more important? I can never keep that straight. And
how much of whichever is more meaningful is it good to have?
Thanks, Lin

For EBay only, you only need 640x480 pictures to post. You can get one of
many 1-3mp cheap cameras under $100, any should do for that task as long as
it has a flash. All I have seen have USB.

If you plan to use it for casual photography than that's another problem. 3
mp is not that much difference than 2mp, since most 2mp are really 2.3 or
more anyway. The lens is more important than the MP. Stay away from one with
a tiny lens.
The Fuji is a decent camera for the price that should do you just fine.

Mwave has the Fuji for $123 + 7 shipping.
