Hi all

I am looking at upgrading my old Nad gear. This is what i am looking at.

My choices are;
NAD T753 av reciever and NAD T513 Dvd player

or CAMBRIDGE AUDIO 540R 6.1 RECEIVER & CAMBRIDGE
AUDIO 540D DVD-AUDIO PLAYER

Price wise i can get the Cambridge gear cheaper. But have got a personel
preference for the NAD.Any one any experience with either?

Thanks
Graeme

Who would you get the Cambridge DVD with the reciever, do you think
there is some inherent advantage to pairing branded equipment
togeather?

Hi,

I'm in the market myself at the moment for a new AV receiver (low end),
and have narrowed it down to the NAD T743 and Denon AVR-1905 models.
When listening (Quality HiFi Syd CBD) I slightly preferred the NAD in
stereo mode, as it was a little livlier, however I'm told the Denon
outperforms it in Home Theatre mode (didn't test this myself however).
Having said that, the Denon was also excellent. I was listening via
Monitor audio speakers ($700 range) and midrange ($400-500) CD player,
which is consistent with my gear.

I didn't listen to the T753 or Denon 2805, however would expect similar
results. Denon have now released the 1906 model, with slightly upgraded
specs, at the same price break. Personally I'm going for the Denon
1906, as list is $200 cheaper, and I have found it down to $699 on an
eBay store. The 2805 is a similar margin below the 753.

I would recommend either from my audition.

Regards,
Brad.

Why would i pair the cambridge reciever with the dvd ?
From what i can find out the Dvd player is off a pretty good quality for the
price and has recieved good reviews overseas.
Also buying them together i actually would save a fair bit of money.
Thanks
