Wow. Myron Floren must be spinning in his grave, while Bob Moog is
snickering in his.
I looked up Myron here:
http://www.welkshow.com/floren.html
Seeing the "Welk Show Bulletin Board" and thinking of mentioning
this fine Roland product there, I clicked on it and got here:
http://www.welkshow.com/forum/
If they fix it by the time you see it, the page is currently in a
'hacked' state, and shows this pic:
http://polat.sitemynet.com/owned.jpg
Geez. First ValuJet (now named AirTran):
http://www.2600.com/hackedphiles/value_jet/
... now the Lawence Welk Show website. Will these hackers stop at
nothing? How shameful!!! |

And why is this funnier than any other MIDI instrument? The nice thing
about MIDI is that you can use an input device that suits the
performer's existing reflexes/preferences/style.
You can get MIDI horn, MIDI guitar, MIDI fiddle, and MIDI drums. Why not
MIDI-anything-else?
(Personally, I'm still really impressed by Lamonte Wooton's hack of the
"Synthaxe drummitar" -- a percussion synth driven by a guitar controller
-- not exactly a traditional use of either component, but he was able to
make a lot of good music with that setup. Sometimes there's a lot to be
said for changing input devices just as a way of forcing yourself to
break old habits and develop new approaches.) |

Let's see you do that with the "real thing". |

A digital cacophony?
And won't all the bits spill out? |
