Ok, I don't have a surround system yet, so I am just using the speakers on
my Sony Wega 32" hdtv. Any programs on NBC HD sound like crap on my TV. Its
real tinny, and not in stereo, it is very bad....

I am using Charter, and I have the DVR with Moxi. I usually watch everything
from the DVR, but I have noticed this while watching live TV...

Its so bad, I just watch it in regular TV, as I cannot deal with the
horrible sound...

This only happens on NBC....

Call your local affiliate and tell the engineer that something is out of
phase in their audio path. Does this happen with the local programming
(news) on your affiliate or only on the network feeds? Does it change when
there is a local commercial or during the entire commercial break. Note all
of the answers to these questions and give them to the engineer. I don't
know what market you are in but many stations amazingly do not have the
ability to monitor their off air DTV signal very well. While the SD signal
is routed everywhere in the station, there is probably only one area with an
actual DTV receiver/monitor and nobody is being paid to sit in the sweet
spot and make sure all is well.
