Does anybody know if a cable / converter is made that will allow me to
plug the three RCA cables (Audio L, Audio R, Video) into the output
from my digital video recorder and then convert this stream into a
Firewire (IEEE-1394) output so that I can transfer this onto my video
camera?

My only output options on my DVR are RCA cables or S-Video. However,
the only input option on the video camera is firewire. Thus, my
dilemma. This seems to be a contradiction since my understanding is
that RCA cables are analog and the firewire is obviously digital, so
there may need to be some sort of digitizing device in the middle. I
searched the web and didn't find anything.

Thanks for your help,
Randy

Sure.. Many in this newsgroup recommend any of the Canopus products for
this.

I personally have a ADVC-300, and it rocks!
