Panasonic and Shadows |
|
|
Hello,
A question concerning loss of detail in shadows.
I have a Pana TX-76PW300A which I find a very good CRT however the blacks
are a bit overpowering - details in shadow are often all black. This is
particularly annoying with the slightest shadow across a half of a persons
face.
Does anyone have any suggestions for resolving this? Other colours,
brightness, et cetera are fine.
Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem with an old Panasonic CRT TV, but it has very
limited adjustments.
Have you tried adjusting it with Digital Video Essentials (DVE) DVD or
similar one whose name I forget starting with "A". That showed me that
the DVI defaults on my LCD HDTV are just about perfect, but defaults for
component were a little dark (not to mention overscan). |

No I hadn't heard of that but will look into it.
It seems to be the worst when using component inputs... How well did you
resolve the same problem with yours?
Thank you.
