I don't like Elements for image management. Why? Because you have to load
Elements to use it. They should have tied them together, but still allowed
them to be seperate programs. When you install you get one icon to launch
the program. You can then choose the browser or the editor. You can also get
a preference so that it defaults to either the editor mode or the browser
mode. But, I have yet found a way to have two launch icons one for the
brower and one for the editor.
They were better of having Album as a seperate package. This combined stuff
especially when you don't want to use Elements as an editor is a pain in the
rear.

Picasa2 is free, so is Irfanview. Why bother with anything else?

Well, perhaps if you checked the trial of Photoshop elements, you
wouldn't need to ask that question....
Fair warning--- Elements is a huge download, 171 MB according to Adobe's
website. I balked at that when I was considering purchasing it and I have
DSL. On a dialup connection downloading the tryout would take 9-17 hours
and it would tie up your connection completely during that time. |

I agree that the extended load time is annoying, and that is why I use |
Irfanview for the simple stuff and PSE3 for the more difficult things.

Yes, it is rather large, but the download would take less than 10 |
minutes on my connection. Not feasible for a dialup user, but should be
ok for even 1.5mbps DSL.
