Which Group to Ask? |
|
|
I am trying to use DVD+R/W to store photos. I want to add to the DVD
from time to time. I am using Nero. I keep getting a "burn failed"
message.
Can someone point me to a site or to which group this should be posted
to?
Thanks

Don't expect re-writeable DVD or CD media to work superbly after multiple
writes/ deletions, you can use DVD-Ram which is the best media type for what
your wanting, otherwise seriously consider using USB Flash Memory, large
Compact Flash memory cards, or a USB HDD.
Long term data retention on HDD's and Flash media is far superior to Optical
Discs, which also suffer more from scratches a little more. As to cost, an
external USB HDD Enclosure & HDD is relative in cost to DVD-Ram discs, I've
little faith in the ability of DVD-RW discs to work properly after 5-10
re-writes.

In the case of DVD +/-RW, how many times does "multiple" amount to?

A common mistake people make when trying to design something
completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of
complete fools. |
