BAF for B&W Matrix 802 series3 ? |
|
|
Hello,
i just got a pair of Matrix 801's series 3 speakers.
Read about a Bass Alignment Filter for the 801's that would eliminate my
need for a sub.(?) I use ASW 675 now...
Now where can i get a hold of these things?
I understand that there were several brands of Bass Alignment Filters
for the Matrix 801 series 3 speakers. On the net i found old info about
other brands filter - JPSLabs, Krell, North Creek and what have you?
I will greatly appreciate an answer! The 801's are such
wonderful speakers but i would love to do without the sub.
My hopes are that someone 10 yrs ago bought several kinds of filter for
evaluation and now can consider parting from a pair!
Regards

You have posted this request at least 4 times now. If you cannot find
them, you might be able to build them by requesting info from one of
those suppliers, especially if they are no longer producing them.

Good idea, thank you!
If nothing else shows up i will ask Joe at JPS labs for a hint on how to
build them. (B&W's rep. answered my mail too, it was a dead end)
I find that the soundstage is great with these speakers when put at
least 80cm from back wall but then the bass drops a bit compared to when
positioned closer...
As for multiple posts, sorry for that but not all people read all groups
my two previous posts were at .opinion and .pro, scott in .pro suggested
i'd post here as well.

Yeah, well I responded to you earlier with a similar suggestion
including a note that the circuit did appear in print in Stereophile
years ago.
