DirecTV Tivo's have two tuners and record two shows concurrently. I do this
all the time, and it works flawlessly. For example, on Thursday I watch ER
and Without a Trace, both of which are on at 10PM. You can also watch a
previously recorded show while you are recording two shows. The only time I
have a problem is when a third show is on at the same time. On such cases, I
have to record on a different Tivo, and can only watch the show on that

Yes, and the Tivo can do it without such a shitty user interface as is found
on that Comcrap DVR. People who've never used a Tivo have no idea how
horrible the software is on other DVRs.

purchase.

No

TiVo boxes (work with cable, satellite, antenna) cannot record more than one
show at a time due to hardware limitations. You can, however, watch a
prerecorded program while your TiVo box is recording another live program.
(Try that with a VCR!) It is possible that future-generation TiVo boxes may
contain a second tuner, which would allow you to record two shows
simultaneously.
