TV Problem |

Sony CRT TV, about 15 years old. No audio problem. When TV is turned on
all is OK until, after a minute or so, the picture goes out and is replaced
with a uniform color screen which in a matter of some seconds gets brighter
and brighter and whiter and whiter and then suddenly the set turns itself
off. Any clues as to what may be the trouble?

You might have better luck at sci.electronics.repair - it's a very active
