Hello,

I am trying to copy a dvd and it gives me either read error or css error.

I tried coyping it using:

dvd decrypter 2.4
dvd decrypter 3.1.4.0
clone dvd
dvd shrink 3.2

they all give an error.

Anyone can recommend me some other way to try to copy this dvd ?

Thanks,

Mario

Hi Mario,

Is this an application (hard) error, or a copyright error?
If a copyright error, get yourself a copy of AnyDVD. It will run as an
application in your system tray and will remove copyright protection on
the fly.

What OS? What is the DVD? What are the exact error messages?

If this is a new burner or you are just trying to copy then you may

have one of those shit burners from the house brands from FRYs, Office
Max, etc. Many of them, if not all have hardware copy protection
built into the hard drive. I have found that buying a Pioneer or
Memorex will work trouble free if that is the problem. Usually the
junk burners will have info such as manufatured by TOP G, Jing Xing
industrial City, 8DVDRW-B13, and mode. DVD RW 1008im. If you open a
box with this info rush back and refund it and get a name brand drive.
There are some Sony drives that has the same copy protection hardware
scheme.

What the hell are you talking about. There is no built in hardware copy
protection on hard drives or burners. Boy are you misinformed.

Then tell the technicians at Fry since they verified the returns they
were getting on the model burner.

They have fairly good people. Still does not explain why the model
numbers and manufacter failed to burn copy protectedDVDs and the
memorex and poineer and even the Kypermedia drives had ZERO problems
on the same EXACT computer,
