"Good Morning America" now in HD on ABC... |
|

Thursday, November 03 2005, @ 9:57 AM (-0800 GMT)
The first show was this morning; it even included a nice "primer" for
HD newbies, and showed differences in the cameras, color, and
resolution. Quite impressive.
I'm getting it on Cox Cable Channel 707 in Orange County, CA using my
crummy Motorola 6412 "use it or lump it" box.

According to my local ABC station only Eastern and Pacific time zones were
fed HD.
Therefore, being in the Central time zone, we got nada. Sounds fishy to me
but that's what the master control engineer said ABC told him. |

I watched it this morning and even though the hosts said the show
was being broadcast in HD it was actually 4:3 SD on the "HD" channel
(TWC ch 1107). They also said the interview with some actor was
going to be in HD but it was shown 4:3 and wasn't in HD either.
Nothing during the program was shown in HD where i am.

In the Midwest USA, Good Morning America will not be in HD
until mid March 06 due to lack of ABC-HD Network Satellite
bandwidth in the morning hours...... |

I get it just fine here in HD, in Ottawa Canada: Rogers Cable.

Seems like most of the GMA non-studio feeds are still in SD, but the |
studio picture is definitely HD on KABC. The HD logo in the bottom right
corner, though, is partially cut off, which seems typical for KABC-HD,
at least on my set. Local CBS HD picture is much better, especially on
football games.
