DVD Burning Question ??? |
|
|
Hi guys,
I have a dvd format that was downloaded from the net. The problem I
have is it has the normal dvd structure as far as I know and I can
play it from the hard drive using powerDVD. However I would like to
burn it to a dvdr. At this time I am unable to do that. When I try to
do it using nero it says...
"DVD-Video files compliance test failed. The resulting DVD-Video might
be unplayable. Do you want to continue?"
Is there a way to fix this folder so that I can burn it to a dvdr? Is
there something I need a tool or anything to fix this?
Thanks

Often times running it through DVD Shrink will fix that error. Just do a
straight backup with no changes. Better yet, back it up to ISO and burn
it with DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn.

At the end of the burning process Nero seems to have
finished, but you have to wait a minute or so to be sure.
It also looks like you have a VTS_01_0.IFO, but no
VTS_01_0.BUP. All the .ifo files should have a .bup
file, an exact copy with the same name but the .bup
extension.
Luck;

Hi,
I have been using DVD-Shrink for years for making compilations and backups
(selecting chapters or parts, encoding etc. then burning TS files from Nero
separately or automatically) but am always surprised by many users that use
Decrypter as well/ instead of Shrink. I did try Decrypter in the past but
didnt find anything that Shrink could not do all-in-one.
What am I missing by never using Dycrypter?

For one, it will rip a lot of discs that DVD Shrink won't. It handles
both protections and scratches better.
For another, it's more convenient to burn with than Nero.

It means the DVD structure may not be standard or either more/less file
than nomal. Usually it should play, or 95-99% playable.
Fix it?
Just load that sucker to DVD authoring program like TDA, if it recognize the
structure then you should be able to re-author within 15-30 minutes
(depedning on the speed of your system). If TDA can't recognize the
structure then it means either corrupted or missing file.
If TDA doesn't recognize, then you will have to load the VOB just like you
do with MPG, to re-author (similar to the above but don't have option to
keep original chapter's).
If TDA has problem reading some VOB then it means the VOB is bad, then you
may need FIX the VOB using tool or converter. If the converter can convert
video but no audio, then find the one can do both. |

99% chance DVD Shrink won't accept non-standard DVD (may be using the
Re-Author option may but I never used it to know for sure).
ISO, as I have mentioned many times before, and many experts here were
trying to correct and teach me about the "ISO" or the "exact (stinky) image"
and DVD has to be burnt in specific file order etc..
Anyway, it worked because you burnt as DATA, or whatever program you use the
create the ISO just combine all selected files into single file called ISO
(completely different than the true meaning of ISO or the CD Imaged), and
Nero just burn that sucker as DATA. Or pretty much like ignoring the
warning, and ignoring the warning is kinda safer than sneaking in from the
backdoor. <bg> |

DVD Decrypter is "RIPPER" when DVD Shrink is "SHRINKER" one plays Rock 'n
Roll while other RAPs.
What you have been missing is trying other like Nero Encode which does the
SHRINKing in a different way, and seems faster than DVD Shrink. Sometime it
can Re-Encode the one DVD Shrink can't and other way around. |
