Latest Nero 7 Nero Vision performance |
|
|
I just upgraded to the latest Nero 7 Ultra, which offers numerous features,
and was quite disappointed to find how extremely slow the rendering step is
when doing HDV video. Since HDV support is one of the major enhancements, I
was expecting it to perform perhaps in the same range of speed as, let's say
Ulead Video Studio 9, which provides somewhat comparable editing
capabilities. Nero unfortunately is profoundly slower, perhaps 10 times
slower, based on a couple experiments I've done.
I just wanted to document my findings for this newsgroup since Nero is an
extremely popular product and others may have an interest in this
performance.

Thanks Smarty, I got Nero 7 as a B-Day present & have been reluctant to
uninstall my present copy of Nero 6.6.0.16 to install Nero 7. I appreciate
your comments...

I believe that Nero Vision uses proprietary rendering and that is why
it is so slow. But how slow is it really? Ulead MovieFactor4 is fast
if you do not check Two Pass - but then the result has serious audio
sync problems. You must render with Two Pass on to get audio sync, and
then not always. Two Pass rendering is very slow. The only way to deal
with it is to Export each clip as you author them and that way they
are already rendered. The final composition then goes reasonably fast
even with a lot of clips.

This is about the tenth time you have stated this. Only you experience this
with ONE of your files.
MF4 is fast and without sync problems for me over hundreds of files. |

Good for you.
If MF4 is so wunnerful then why do people have to use VideoReDo to fix
it.
