OK, I forgot something in my last post. I have stagehands and SMs
complain that having wired Clear Coms backstage sucks because they are
always tripping people and tangling themselves up. It's gotten to the
point where I have a SM that refuses to call shows from backstage
anymore because of this problem. So I am wondering if anyone knows of
either of the following. My first idea is glow-in-the-dark mic cable.
Is there such a thing?? The second idea is a "rotating" mic jack/plug.
(explination: If you take the head off a wireless mic, there is a
circle of brass contacts on the head so that there is always a
connection to the body.) Well, take that concept and put it in a
micrphone plug. Basically you would be able to plug a mic plug into
a jack, and then twist the entire cable and half of the plug would turn
so that the cable never twisted up. I know, it's a big wish, but does
anyone know if it exists???

Bless her! Tell her to cope. Stage Management needs to be on stage.
