Unless ghosts have frequented my house for the last week in
anticipation of halloween, I'm either getting interference with my
Radio Shack remote control extender, or the unit is malfunctioning.
I'm betting on the former.

My Sony receiver will randomly turn off, turn on, mute, and change
volume. It is not the receiver as I blocked off the IR receiver and
the unit works fine.

I also wanted to make sure it wasn't my universal remote, or any other
remote, and put them in a drawer to block the IR signal. The only
thing left is the IR extender. I suspect a neighbor has hooked one up,
and happens to have another Sony receiver.

Anything I can do to solve this short of buying a new extender on a
different requency? I've put the antenna down hoping it would ignore
the weaker signal, to no avail. I'm going to try to move the IR
tranmitter, but I'm kinda stuck as to the couple of places I can move
it.
