I wonder why it is only spec'd to 1Hz? Since it appears to be a fan,
why can't it continue to deliver SPL to DC, which I guess would be
leaving the fan running? :)

The fan is always running at a constant speed. The tones come from
change in pitch in the propeller. A friend heard one at an audio show
here in Denver and said that the hotel walls were literally flexing.
They only had it set up for test tones, though. he didn't get to hear it
integrated into an actual music system.

I doubt its transient response is adequate for pro live sound; probably more
suitable for special effects, synth pedal tones, etc.
