I'm looking at this system used.

Any feedback on them? Guy says its about 7 years old. Only used 2-3
years in church. Sorta sounds like "only driven to the grocery store by
Grannie"

Includes 2 12" PAS speakers, and Fender PX2200 Power Amplifier - 8 ohms
600watts - 300 watts/ch

Total asking is $500

Any feedback on price to quality?

Church may or may not be a safe place for a sound system. No telling
who's been driving it. Unless you know, ignore the hype.

If it's a place called Grosse Point baptist church then avoid like the
plague. Nobody there knows anything about audio.

I think you'd be better off with the newer Fender Deluxe Passport,
PD-250. It'd cost a little more but it would sound lots better and is
very compact. Do not consider the other versions of the Passports.

I passed on it. He was evasive about some questions, the thing was
tremendously heavy, and slightly beat up.

I bought an EON15 G2 today and will do my research on a mixer later.

I scoped out their website (GP Baptisit Church), and found this on their
schedule of activities:

Good.

Reads to me like you are proceeding impulsively. This is not a rational
way to develop a decent affordable sound system. For instance, the
Fender I refrenced has a built-in mixer, amps, two speakers, all in one
fairly easily carried package, plus a pair of mics and cables.

That would be my middle name. However, I've decided to up my budget a
bit. I am going to return the G2 for an EON15 powered instead, and use
the price differential towards a mixer.

I took your suggestion when I went to return the G2. I listened to the
Passport unit, but there seemed to be noticable clarity issues with the
speakers.

Then they tried to steer me towards a Mackie 12" 2-way powered speaker,
but the highs were too piercing. Not shrill per se, but a bit piercing.

They hooked up the Eon15 and it had a nice warm open sound, with clarity.

With the price differential, I bought a Yamaha 12/4 FX unpowered mixer.
As time goes on I can add another speaker.

If you bought the old (NON G2) powered EON15 impulsive is just the
start of your problem! If instead you got the G2 you have a potent
little PA complete with mixer. Not the most HI-FI but I use my for
EVERYTHING from keyboard mon to duo PA to band mon/side fill. When
straped I've even used it for low level bass guitar amp! Best used $500
I've ever spent on sound gear.
