Problem with DishNetwork 311 recevier |
|
|
On an erratic basis the receiver does not tune to the correct channel.
There seems to be no pattern in the error, and I generally can't tell
what it did tune to, since I get a screen telling me that it is a channel
that needs payment.
Any suggestions on how to fine tune the blaster to get reliable channel
changing. The problem only seems to occur for recordings, and not for
simple live channel changes.

It has to do with the fact that the RePlay only goes up 3 digits whereas |
you are probably trying to record a channel that has four digits. The
only work around I have found for the issue was to use the VCR on the
four digit channels.

Both DirecTV and Dish Network use 4-digit channel numbers for some
channels. On the Replay, these are mapped to 3-digit numbers (I know
that on DirecTV, these are right above the music channel numbers).
However, this shouldn't have anything to do with an ERRATIC channel
selection problem.
BTW, DVArchive, annoyingly, doesn't do this mapping.
