Is it possible to set pulldown in DIVX/XVID files? I mean the thing used in
MPEG2 files when the framerate is 23.976 fps, but pulldown flag instructs
decoder to repeat frames to get to 29.97 fps. I have a few AVI files with
23.976 and when played on standalone player, the result is not OK.

Or, is it possible to change framerate of the video to 25 fps without
reencoding? This way (+ reencoding the audio) I could play them as PAL
files.

With an AVI Frame Rate Changer you can patch your AVI file to 25 fps.
Two different ones: http://www.am-soft.ru/avifrate.html
http://www.inmatrix.com/files/avifrate_download.shtml

You will have to speed up the audio with for example BeSweet.
