DVD Issues with Nero 6 burning from ISO file |
|
|
I have made an ISO Image file (4.3 GB) using DVD Shrink 3.2. Now,
using Nero 6, I am trying to burn a DVD-R of the image file. I am a
rookie at burning.
Everything appears to work fine. The image is created successfully
with DVD Shrink 3.2. I use the "Burn Image to Disc" option in Nero and
after 25 minutes, it finishes and says that the burn was successful.
The problem I am having, however, is my DVD player and computer do not
recognize the DVD. My DVD player gets stuck on "reading disc" and my
computer does not "see" the disc at all. Clicking on the drive brings
up an "insert disc" window.
Is there anyone out there who can help me get over this hurdle? I have
a feeling that I am close, but I don't have any ideas what to try next.
Thanks ahead for your suggestions.

Google and install Daemon Tools. Does your DVD play from your hard
drive? If not, there's something wrong with the image itself.
I would say it's likely a -/+ issue if it was just your standalone DVD
player, but your burner should be able to read anything it burns.

I can play the ISO file from my hard drive using Windows Media Player,
so the image seems to be ok. When I install Daemon Tools, what should
that do for me or what should I do once installed? If I use a blank
DVD, does it have to be formatted first or will it format when it burns? |

Thanks Tarkus. I tried to burn using Nero again, slightly different
this time and it worked. I could play it from my dvd drive and also
from a new dvd player I have in the basement. The dvd player in my
living room does not read it, although the spec's of this machine says
DVD-R is an acceptable format. Thanks again. |

Always burn using Ridata blank discs. Burns never fail and dics will play in
almost any standalone DVD players. Memorex sucks...they make good blank CD-R
media but their blank DVD +/- media sucks.
