Re: OT: Universal remote control |

I just purchased a Philips PH750 from Circuit City on sale for $25.
The automatic programming feature was worthless.
However, by using manual programming and entering a suggested code, then
trying the remote until I found the best code, I found exact duplicates for
my HD cable box
and HDTV.
By using manual programming and the learning feature I constructed remotes
that work with the normally used features on my a/v receiver and DVD/VCR
recorder.
The only thing I use and OEM remote for now is programming the DVD recorder.
This remote can operate up 7 items.

Hi,
Slightly OT.
What kind of remote control are you using to control your components?
I'd like to use one remote simplifying things in the family room to keep
the peace. Have HD cable box, TV, 2xDVD players, VCR and a/v receiver.
Which one is best bang for the buck at present?
TIA,
Tony
Logitech makes a very nice Harmony remote for $99.99.
