the '99 Pontiac, but they will contact you to tell you that they will fix
it for free, if you will only bring it to them.
And automakers do release software updates for older model vehicles. You
just won't get the update unless you exhibit an issue the software was
meant to fix. Admittedly, I haven't seen any changes for a model more than
5 years old, but it was for a 2000.
In those cases, the automaker would love to have the opportunity to sell you
a newer, just off the line vehicle. RTV hasn't released a newer, just off
the line model in a long time.
