PowerDirector 4 and divx? Xvid? |
|
|
I'm looking for some software that will burn right to DVD... I am
constantly stuck in codec hell and am Looking for something that can
burn these dovx, xvid, Klingon, and Cardassian encoded files right to
DVD. How does Power Director fare when it comes to burning right to
DVD? Any other suggestions?

Download GSpot to analyze video AVI and what codecs are needed to play
video and what codecs are installed. GSpot establishes what video and
audio codecs are required to play an AVI file
http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=GSpot
Did you install DIVX player and codec and then XVID Codec
http://www.divx.com/
http://www.divx.com/divx/play/download/
XVID Codec 1.03
http://www.divx-digest.com/software/xvid.html
The XVID AVI should play now in Windows Media player and DIVX Player.
(if it crashes change FOUR CC with XVID Tools)
I use VSO DivxToDVD (full free trial) with good results. TMPGEnc free
will also work once you get the right codecs install.
You might have to install somethng like WinDVD or PowerDVD trial to
get the mpg2 codecs to be able to play DVD files.

A suggestion; If you don't have the temperament or interest,
to gain, at least the minimum technical understanding of these
processes - buy a DVD player that can play those "dovx, xvid,
Klingon, and Cardassian encoded files".
Luck;

Even if they made such a player, I would not be able to give a DVD to
somebody who has a human player |

Been there. It tells me to install xvid codecs which I did and all I
get is garbledness on the screen.
Yes, divx works fine. Xvid is spotty.

I recall a strange thing happend to my xvid playback after allowing Divx
to do an auto update. I deleted both Divx and Xvid and then reinstalled
the Xvid codec and things worked fine again. As I never use Divx anywho,
I just left it deleted. |
