I've had a disk get stuck 2-3 times, and turning the wall power switch off
worked.
What do you mean by "while you cycle"? and when you say " power switch on"
I presume you mean the one on the recorder.

I presume this means:
1. Press and hold the power switch.
2. Unplug the Panasonic
3. Wait a bit (say, 15 seconds)
4. Plug in the Panasonic
5. Wait for the disk to eject.
6. Let go of the power switch.
I've had to do this once when it was trying to copy a half-hour
show to DVD-RAM, and it started having trouble, and after 4 hours
it still wasn't past 29%. That DVD turned out to have a very dirty
spot on it.

I only had to do this once or twice, and it was a couple years ago, but I
believe the sequence is:
1. Unplug the Panasonic
2. Wait a bit (say, 15 seconds)
3. Plug in the Panasonic
4. Press and hold the power switch while simultaneously holding down the
eject / open button..
5. Wait for the disk to eject.
6. Let go of the power switch.
Maybe somebody here has a better recollection or more recent experience.

The disk is a taiyo yuden dvd-r 8x tyg02 (not fake) disc.
Placed it in my e50 recorder and it started to record like it
has with other brands of media for the past 18 months.
Then it stopped, closed down and turned itself off.
Turned it back on and get the RECOVER message, then I get the CLOSE
message. I can't eject the disk, it is stuck in there.
Any way of getting the media out?
I have tried turning the power off at the wall, turning it back on and
pressing the eject button but the unit keeps on wanting to read the
media then recover and finally close.
Been told its out of warranty and would have to be sent to panasonic
who could charge much more than what a new one goes for.
Never will I buy a taiyo yuden disc again!

I read all the reactions on your posting and I am i little puzzled.
Owning a Panasonic E65, I have had no trouble with my printable 4x
Taiyo Yuden dvd-r's at all, nor with my Ritek dvd-ram's.

bought them from at least 10 different places and they have all be different
and not like the descriptions people give of real TY. |

I own a panny recorder too. TY don't work. I've tried jpl, rimedia,
pcx. I reckon they are all selling fakes. Only sold in Europe an dthe
US are the genuine ty's. Import is the only option or take your
chances with buying fake ty here in Australia. |
