JVC HD-52Z585 & SA8300HD |
|
|
I've had this JVC HD-ILA set for a week. I have tried to connect the
SA8300HD cable box from Rogers Cable to the JVC using the HDMI ports but I
get no sound or picture. I exchanged my HDMI cable for another one, but
still no luck. The HDMI port on the JVC is HDCP enabled. I had the local
TV store service guy over to look at my set up and he can't get it to work
either. Anyone have a similar experience, and a solution?
The component cables work great by the way. The HD picture on the JVC is
incredible, best I've seen on any type of TV.

Last I checked Adelphia does not enable the port.

Was the tech JVC authorized? There are some JVC sets that have a security
feature that will disable the HDMI input if the back is removed with the
power on. The only way to restore it to active is to get the chip
reprogrammed or replaced by JVC. Not sure if your set is one of these but
it is somethig that people should be aware of...never remove the back on a
JVC unless you know the details.

The tech is JVC authorized. He came back with a DVD player with HDMI output
and hooked it up and again no picture or sound. They swapped the set for me
and now everything works just fine.
