but thats nothing new for Derby.

Derby? I think a did a gig in Derby once, couple of years ago, but the
memory is kind of foggy on that one...

You've done two gigs there Joe. Surprised you didn't remember the fetish gig
plus there was one with the cureheads as well I think.

That was hired in gear, was it not?

Yes.

Hell, figuring out, WHY the bloody wegdes turned into smoke machines. If I

Yamaha boards where the switches could get stuck halfway between group and

Actually there were two candles, one in each hole, lit and dripping hot wax

impressed when Gary from the Cureheads went up and started singing "Happy

Come on Phildo.. do tell!

I nearly moved to Willington a while ago. Place there called the Green
Dragon I think, next to the cottage, right opposite the railway station.
Took the then girlfriend and her folks for a meal, 4 steaks with drinks cost
me 30 quid for all four of us.

I'm starting to remember more and more... The fetish gig, wasn't that the
gig were the singer complained about the roadie spilling something all
over
the hotel room floor? And said roadie was standing on stage towards the
end
with some female underwear on his head?

Yep, that's the one. We drove up from a gig in Salisbury the night before

overnight, finally got into Derby, got totally lost, had to ask a hooker for
directions, slept in the car outside the venue, toasted several turbosound
wedges, candles in orifices, crappy gig, Dougy spilling some very expensive
talcum powder all over the carpet and yes, he did adopt some female
underwear as headgear at the end. Not as bad as our trip to Austria where he
suddenly took to wearing a glow-in-the-dark penis as a nose, scaring the
hell out of some German policemen who overtook us on the autobahn, looked up
at the British tour bus to find the aforementioned phallus glowing brightly
and staring out the window at them.

Oh the joys of life on the road.

Of course the Derby gig I introduced you to curry at was the Victoria Inn
one with the Cureheads a year or so before.

It's like driving around Paris, place de l'Etoile especially. If your car is
really beaten up, other drivers think "he's dangerous" and move out of the
way. If you drive an expensive shiny car, people will take your right of
way, thinking "he'll be scared of getting a scratch", and you'll hardly move
at all in rush hour.

I think it's called "playing chicken" in english.

(Don't know what chickens have got to do with it, though...)
