VEGAS 5.0c and/or 6.0a question |
|
|
Is there a way in Sony's Vegas 5.0 or 6.0 to manipulate the video to skew it
and/or render it to play within an isolated portion of the screen?
Basically, creating a Picture in Picture sort of effect, where the main
picture displaying is just a black background and the motion video clip is
playing in a user set sized window?
I want to play video on a transition to move it to a smaller skewing of it
to play it in a "Door" look [slight angled depth], then mirror it to play
side by side so it looks like the actor is talking to himself. Is this
possible or anything even close to being possible?
How can you isolate video to a windowed portion of the screen?
Also, can Vegas 6.0 now let you see the 'safe-zone' area previewed while in
edit mode without having to seutp an overlay channel [which is how I've done
it in vegas 5]. Switching back-n-forth to the preview mode/Edit mode just
to see if you're within the safe zone is annoyingly time consuming.
One other question.. in Vegas 6.0a is there a way to prevent the new media
manager feature from loading? Its causing an error and I'd prefer to just
completely disable/remove the feature all-together.
Thanks.

Use Track Motion to get the PIP effect. Edward Troxel explains it quite
well in Vol.1, Issues 2, 3 & 4 of his newsletter (pdf format). Get them at
http://tinyurl.com/8h6oa
I highly recommend getting all of them as they're a valuable resource.
You might also want to read up in the manual on 3D Track Motion as this
allows you to rotate your clips in a 3D plane.
Vegas has always had the safe zone option. Turn on "Safe Areas" in the
Preview WIndow overlay.
To disable Media Manager, turn it off in Options - Preferences - General.
It's 3rd from the bottom.
