Can 2 DVD players share S-Video and RCA of the same input? |
|
|
My TV "VIDEO1" input has both S-Video and RCA. I understand that I only
need to use either one for a DVD player. However, I wonder if it's
possible and SAFE to use both these S-Video and RCA inputs for 2
different DVD players (they don't operate at the same time, of course),
because my TV runs out of inputs.
BTW, I try not to use external switch
Thanks for any input.

Most tvs that have a shared input only allow the use of one or the other and
s-video usually takes precedent, check your tv's owner manual....many may
allow you to have connections on both jacks, but it may also degrade teh
picture quality, which I have seen happen on many tvs when trying to do
exactly what you want to achieve. There are plenty of automatic video
switchers out there if thats the issue, or any decent av reciever can also
be used, as it will switch audio and video for you...

Err, no. RCA is also used for Composite (sometimes called baseband)
video.
RCA connectors are also used for Component video output. RCA is a
connector type, not a signal type.
