I've copied a DVD's contents to my harddisk and gave the DVD back.
I thought I could decrypt the DVD from the files on my harddisk with
an appropriate tool but I can only find tools which decrypt a whole
DVD at once from the DVD-ROM. Is there any technical constraint that
decrypting the DVD now doesn't work or can anyone recommend a Windows
-tool to decrypt the DVD from the files I have on my harddisk?

Thanks in advance!

BTW: Of course I live in a country where decrypting DVDs is legal! *g*

If it's on your hard drive it's probably already decrypted.
However, DVDShrink will work with files on a hard drive.

If you were able to copy it onto your HD then clearly the disk isn't
protected. Likewise you could just burn it onto a rewriteable and then run a
decrypt program but I don't think that's necessary. Use DVD shrink to reduce
the size if necessary.

And it's ok to copy a DVD you didn't pay for also, I suppose?

What are you trying to do with it now, play it, burn it to a new disk? If
you backed it up to your hard drive correctly, you can easily do any or all
of those things if you have nay clue what you're doing.

No, it's not OK according to the law.

But that law is not legitimate because it does not have the consent of
the governed.

Three possibilities:

1) The original DVD was NOT encrypted.
No problem. Shrink it, burn it, whatever.

2) The original DVD WAS encrypted AND you made an ISO copy.
No problem . Decrypt/Shrink as necessary, then burn.

3) The original DVD WAS encrypted and you just copied the AUTIO_TS and
VIDEO_TS folders.
Sorry about your luck. Nothing can be done. Delete the files and reclaim you
HD space.

Pretty much all of the "Honest" governed, have given consent
for the prosecution of theft, in any of its many forms.

Ken

P.S The disparity is between those who gave over responsibility
for their live to such as Sen. Kennedy, and those who maintained
some semblance of self-reliance. The rural poor, both white & black
faired much better than those who became dependent on the urban
government welfare structures.

Therein lies the problem.

That's why blacks were forced to sit in the back of a bus.

Are you a bot or is there another explanation for how you manage to

It is easy to understand if you think about it.
