Looking for TV audio gadget |
|
|
Don't know if this is the right dg for this topic. I am looking for an
audio transmitter and headset combination that can be hooked up to a TV.
Its main use is to allow a person to listen to the audio transmission
through the headset with the TV audio turned off so as not to disturb
others in the same room. I know I saw such a gadget years ago but
cannot remember its particulars. Thanks for any suggestions.

Typically, the TV will need line level or headphone outs to use with
wireless phones.

I tried the Radio Shack model. Unfortunately you have to leave the TV
set volume on to hear through the headset. So it still disturbs my
wife, who is trying to sleep in the same room. Thanks for your response. |

Typically, a headphone out will mute the speakers when you plug it in, |
so you probably were using a line level A/V out. It sounds like A/V
out is a variable one that is controlled by the volume control on the
set. If so, you MAY have a setup menu item that can turn off the
speakers and keep the A/V out enabled. Gary E

I see that option in the manual under "Connecting an audio amplifier".
I'll give it a try. Thanks for your suggestion. |
