I haven't heard anyone else mention it, but i recently bought a Samsung
50" DLP with an ATSC tuner. I messed with various antennae trying to
get HD OTA channels, but i could never get more than 1 or 2. I gave up
and accidentally managed to tune in an HD channel via my analog cable
(Cox). Then i set it to autoprogramm the channels and found that I get
the followign HD channels:
FOX, WB, NBC, PBS, ABC, CBS. All i really wanted it for is to watch
football and maybe baseball occassionally so i'm golden. Well, except
that the channels are not the same as listed on the Samsung's TVGuide..

QAM channel numbers run from 81.1 thru 124.20.......

I tried it on my (updated) Sanyo; unfortunately, all I get is a local
weather channel and the cableco's music stations.

It seems on TWC that the HD stuff is on QAM channels 101.1 thru
106.20...

You mean for your local Time Warner franchise. Don't assume that
those channel assignments will hold anywhere else.

My WS55511 picks up the unscrambled cable stations. I believe this is a
2002 model for Mitsubishi....(not knowing what you consider to be "very
new").....

TWC = Time Warner Cable Co in NE Wisc. & SE Wisc (Milwaukee) too.

This QAM channel HD range also holds true for Charter Cable Co in
Wausau,
WI....

Comcast is a biggie.... What are there QAM Channel ID's for HD in
general??

What I meant to say was: Any QAM HDTV Tuner will pick up
unscrambled Cable digital Programs.. Chances of buying a
QAM tuner in a HDTV set is better now than a year(s) ago...

What's the model number of the Samsung? You can probably edit the channel

numbers.
