Adding audio tracks in Magix Movies on CD and DVD 4 ... |
|
|
Hi,
Like a lot of people I am getting pretty wound up at the instability and
general difficulty I'm having turning my DV and analogue (especially!) films
in to edited DVDs. I haven't even got as far as trying to burn one yet, so
I'm dreading that part!
The problem I am having is that this software does not want to play any
audio files (mp3) that are of any considerable size. I have some mp3 files
at 320kbps which range in file size from 8MB each to 10MB. Does anyone out
there know if this is what the problem is?
Thanks in advance,
Rachel

Hi Rachel,
What format are these video files? In other words, when you downloaded these
files to your harddrive what format were they compressed into?
If you are not sure, download and install this free, small utility and let
us know:

Click on "local site" for the download file. |

Hi Randy,
Thanks for your reply. The videos I am editing are in mpeg format, the
digital videos imported via firewire and the analogue ones captured using
DVD Express and saved as mpeg, then imported in to Magix.
The video images are fine, as is the audio part of the video. It is purely
the background music I'm having trouble adding in... The mp3s on my computer
were coded at 320kbps and Magix just won't play them. It's annoying because
nowhere on the software box or Magix website does it say anything about the
program not liking higest-quality mp3s.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance...!

P.S. I have e-mailed Magix but no reply as of yet... :o(

You might have better luck using the forum on there web
site. Congratulations on getting a Magix product to work for
you, many can't. I have Magix's "Movie Edit Pro 10" and am
able to use about 3/4 of it, reliably. What does work is very
useful though.
If the "Background Music" you mention is for a menu, the
DVD standards put additional restrictions on the audio for
menus. Although, since the authoring program has to convert
the audio for menus anyway, I would expect it to be able to
do that for your MP3. Have you considered just converting
the MP3 with the free "Audacity" or "BeSweet".
