Friends,

I got four Polk DB650s for my interior. Need to get a head unit for them.
I've always bought Alpine in the past and been pleased, but I'm looking for
something of a little better quality. I can spend up to $350 or so. I'm
not very knowledgeable of good quality brands outside of the general
consumer stuff you find at Good Guys, so I'm delegating to you. Any help
would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
PAZ

You can not get much better than Alpine IMHO.
If you liked it in the past stay with it

i think most people agree eclipse is one of the top brands, i've got no
experience with them cause i'm poor. Someone else should be able to give
personal experience

For the most part, any of the "known" brands' higher end models will
probably be your best bet. There isn't many not well known brands out there
as far as I know.. Possibly this Nakamichi..

Seems nice, and is high quality...

I just ditched a Pioneer DEH-P860MP in favor of an Alpine CDA-9855. As
far as audio quality goes I think they are both comparable, but the
Pioneer was just too painfull to control. You need to go into a menu to
change random and repeat and then it would change it on you whenever it
felt like it. The Alpine may not be as pretty but the user interface is
a lot more polished. Both decks are around $350 new on eBay.

Alpine is about the same as any other head unit from Clarion, Kenwood,
Pioneer..... If you want something better you can look at mcintosh
http://www.mcintoshlabs.com/ eclipse http://www.eclipse-web.com or
Nakamichi http://www.nakamichi.com but I do not believe these decks will
come in the $350 (they might but they are so hard to find that I don't
actually know).
