I have a 98 GMC Envoy, got a Viper 350HV installed and it has 2 leds.

after the truck is armed, after about 20 minutes, the alarm goes off,
then if it is disarmed and rearmed, it will keep going off about every
3 minutes.

I am going back to the shop in the morning, but have already been there
twice and they turned down the shock sensor, but that seems not to be
the problem.

does anyone know what is going on and what I can recommend to the
installers?

I have installed many things, my guess is that the leds are drawing too
much current and after 20 minutes, it is trying to shut down the extra
signal flow and trips the alarm,..but not sure, anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

KeylessGuy

It's not the LED's. You can safely put up to 6 LED's on that alarm.
It's hard to say what is causing the alarm to go off.
The status LED should blink a code when the alarm is set off
to tell you what set it off. when the alarm is set off, count the
number blinks from the LED after you disarm it. it will blink 1-4 times
pause and blink again. it will do this till you turn the key on and reset
it.
The shock sensor may be bad
The alarm or shock sensor may be to close to onboard computer
try having them move the shock sensor to a different location.
If problem still accrues, have them remove the shock sensor
for awhile and see if the alarm sill goes off
I would plan on leaving the vehicle there most of the day, as
this type of problem is time consuming

I doubt very very much that the LEDs are the cause of your problem. Your
alarm should be reporting which zone was triggered with the number of
chirps/LED flashes when you disarm. Three chirps might mean shock sensor,
four chirps for the door and so on. Check your owner's manual to see what
your alarm is trying to tell you, then you can put the shop on the right
track.
