When I try to import my pics in raw format, I cannot see them in PS. I can
see and import pictures in jpeg format. I updated to the Camera Raw plug-in
by moving the prior version out of the plug-ins folder and moving the new
plug in into that folder, but it didn't help, as I still cannot see the
files. The new Camera Raw plugin is for the S60, and the S70 is very new,
but I was hoping that the S60 file would work for the S70. Has anyone
successfully imported S70 raw format pics into PS?

Did you check to make sure your camera is supported?

Do you realize that different camera models frequently have
incompatible changes in the file format?

The S70 is new, but the S60 is supported. I was kind of hoping that the
problem was operator error on my part, and not lack of support. Hopefully,
someone with the S70 will have succeeded in importing raw files into PS.

S70 RAW works just nice with ACR 2.3 and Photoshop CS.

That's exactly the type of input I was seeking. Now, is there anything
special you did? Could you tell me the file name and file size of your
Camera Raw file? Mine is dated 9/21/04 and is 4,877,496 bytes.

Did you load any other software? I have not utilized the disk that came with
the camera at all. It is still in the shrink wrap. I was expecting the twain
support would be adequate. I have no problem retrieving a jpg picture. Thus
far, I am using the included CF card. I have ordered a 1GB CF card but it
has not arrived yet. I have three raw files and one jpg.

Any ideas based upon your experience?

You can't "import" from any camera into PS, you have to get the RAW
out of the camera using other software. I use Apple's "image capture"
which is free with Mac OS. Can't help you with windows. I have a Canon
S50 and PS CS has no problem with RAWs although I must admit I
starting to wonder what all the fuss is about with RAW's, I take a
RAW, tweak it in PS and end up what the camera would have spat out
anyhow!
