Aux. Input on Mercury Sable |
|

I just bought an Auxillary input adapter from Crutchfield to put into m
2001 Mercury Sable:

Crutchfield said this device can go into my trunk in place of a C
Changer.
I thought I could just plug this into the factory amp in the trunk o
the car. When I found the amp, I saw that it has 4 connectors. Th
one on the far left looks like it goes to the speakers, I'm not sur
what the next connector does, but it does have a wire connector goin
into it. The next connector is open, and one of the cables from th
Aux. input can fit into it. The final connector appears to be a coa
connector to the car's antennae.
So, I plugged the Aux. into the one availiable slot and it fit tight.
I started feeding some music through the system, but when I go to th
dash and press the "CD" button, I get a message flashing "NO DJ".
found a few places on line where it said I needed to reset the radio b
turning it on & off, but no dice.
Any ideas? Can anyone confirm that this open spot on the factory am
is in fact an auxillary input meant for CD-Changers
