Schedu-all is what's used by Oprah, the BBC, and many production
houses. It's expensive, but it's modular, you can buy modules ala carte
to match your needs and budget.
We loved it, but it was too expensive for us. We used a modified normal
old database progam, and it's cranky as hell, but free. |

We are a small-town PEG startup - Free sounds really good! Can we
take a look-see at your databse program?-)

Hey Rick,
Are you looking at MPEG playback, or using decks and players, or a
combination?
Check out Leightronix (www.leightronix.com) . We've used a PRO-16 for
years at our Public Access facility and they make controllers for just
about any player (both professional and consumer) out there, which has
been great as we seem to always have a multitude of formats going at
one time (SVHS, Hi-8, VHS, DVD, mini DV, DV & DVCam to name a few over
the last 10 years). The scheduling software is very good and easy to
use. Plus, they've come out with all kinds of new networkable
products that can pretty much automate your entire station. You may
want to check out the new Nexus which is a 2-channel digital video
player, digital video recorder, video/audio router, DVD & VCR
controller and messaging system all in one. Plus they have the nicest
sales and service people that I've dealt with.
Best of luck!!
Ryan

I am looking at MPEG playback for a PEG channel(s). I want a windows
screen that shows the days and hours for 24x7 broadcast and the times
at which things start, all without my having to add up the times!-)
It should look like a big matrix, maybe a spreadsheet, and it should
communicate via VDCP over TCP/IP.
Thanks for your reply.
