Cerwin Vega Stroker Pro 12" (The newer ones) |
|
|
Has anyone heard these in person? I'm not talking about the old yellowish
colored cone ones, I'm talking about the new all black ones which handle
2000w RMS. Here's a link:
http://cerwinvega.com/products/mobileaudio/stroker2g/strkr12.html
How would these compare to Audiobahn's 1208T (1200w/2400w)? I'm considering
buying one as a replacement for my AW1208t which I fried, but the CV is
nearly $100 more, is it worth it? The amp driving it would be a 2400w RMS
Audiobahn A2300HCT.

Sorry, I meant the regular stroker... this is not the stroker Pro.

I got 2 of these amps, they rock!! |
It might be ok with the Stroker but it's still 400w rms below what your amp
is rated. Sticking with audiobahn you could go with an AWT12X but it's the
same, 2000w rms. 400w is a lot more heat your asking the sub to dissipate.
If you instead go with the Stroker Pro you'll get under the cap because
there rated at 2500w rms. Then as long as both your box and your
crossover/filtering is good to prevent unloading your new sub should be good
to go. MA Audio and OZ audio make some higher rated rms subs(up to 8000w
rms) but I have no idea how good they are. I'd go with the stroker pro(dual
2 ohm coils) or 2 audiobahn imortals(quad 2ohm coils); either will give you
a 1ohm load for your amp in bridged mode and can handle the power. |

pioneer?? Still wouldn't cut the cheese. There top '5000w' sub still is only |
rated at 2000w rms and the dual 4 ohm coils wouldn't give what he needs
anyway. now if he were looking to go with two of these in parallel then all
should be fine as they do look to be good subs.
There's nothing wrong with his amp, I have 2 of these and I can hit 154 all
day long with no problems(as long as no one is within a few blocks of me of
course)
I'm sure there are but...I don't know of any other amp with this much clean,
true rms power for the price. here's mine:
http://www.sounddomain.com/ride/220002/1
what amps and how much power are you pushing? wait, let me guess, your an
'SQ' guy. |
