Is this one any good? It looks weird. ;)

This is the Terk tabletop antenna. All reports I've heard about Terk
antennas have been negative. Never used one, and don't plan to. Also
they're high-priced compared to similar designs, and the $56.99 "sale"
price in your Best Buy ad is among the highest I've seen.

Instead I recommend the Zenith Silver Sensor, as do others who've
tried it. $19.99 at Amazon, which is where I got mine. Here's a link
to several vendors:

Looks superficially similar to the Terk, but the elements are swept
back instead of forward. Probably makes all the difference. For that
price you can afford to try it out; you won't have lost much if it
doesn't work for you.

My Zenith works very well for my locals (11 mi.) and also for a more
distant station (28 mi.). Although intended for UHF only, it does
fine on my one VHF digital on real channel 12.

NO. I have NEVER heard good things about Terk brand antennas, although
I have never owned one.
Try:

or

or
' http://www.solidsignal.com/prod_display.asp?CAT=&PROD=AD-DB2'
all are listed as outdoor antennas, but they will work great indoors,
at your range, just turn the antenna for best signal, you can place
them behind a curtain, your computer, wherever.
