friend or family member that does not live in your house.

Agreed. I have a combo DVD recorder / VCR hooked up to one of my Tivo's.
Every once in a while, I may need to accommodate someone who watches tapes.
There are still a lot of those folks out there. |

Its worth my time more to just flip out my wallet and buy them a dvd player |
and bring them into the 21st century with a cheap DVD player than to
"accommodate" family and friends with a vhs copy of soething. Much easier to
dump the video to a $20 DVD-R than to waste my time with a tape. |

I just burn DVD-Rs for them on my Panasonic DVD Recorder.

VHS? What's that? I haven't had a VCR hooked up since about 2 months
after I got my TiVo (over 5 years now). I didn't used to have a way to
share a program (didn't have need enough to try), but I have burned a
couple of DVDs since TiVo2Go came around.

could get a floppy disk drive?
