My question regards capturing from cassette to computer.
I use DVD Creator where I have some options of capturing formats.
Say I want burn DVD in High quality. Should I capture from tape to comp in
AVI format or High quality mpeg would be enough?
thnks

There are enough variables that the only reliable way of answering
this for YOU is for you to do the experiment on your own system.

Generically, I would expect that since the video is compressed to
MPEG2 for DVD use, there is likely no significant benefit in going
through an intermediate AVI file (unless it forces your workflow to
use a better compression methodology or something.).
