I'm reading manuals for subjected programs.
So you can't burn DVD witch chapters using Vegas?
What for exactly are these both programs?
Do you need to have two of then to produce nice DVD with chapters?
thanks

Vegas is the video editing part and DVD Architect is the DVD authoring part
so yes, you do need both. Having said that, you're free to use any other
DVD authoring app that you want - as long as you can feed it a finished AVI
file. Without DVD Architect, you won't be able to render to MPEG-2.

That's interesting... I have an older version of Vegas in which
I added the MainConcept plugin which made it possible to render
to MPEG-2. Is that no longer an available plugin for Vegas?

And, yes, DVD Architect will do DVDs with chapters.

Thanks for the reminder Scott. AFAIK, you can still do that but, since I've
always had DVDA too, I never think about it. Sony may still use a version
of of the MainConcept mpeg encoder but I'm not sure. Correct me if I'm
wrong but I don't think the MainConcept encoder gives you AC-3 capabilities
either.

Vegas does still use the Main Concept encoder, which may or may not come
only with DVDA. I have both. I do know that I can do AC-3.
