Why doesn't anybody from this point on simply e-mail Jim Taylor from his
web site and ask him about this topic. I'm just the messenger and I don't
have his link on my site as some kind of advertisement. Just simply a good
place, in my opinion, for people with DVD questions to go to. E-mail Jim
Taylor from his web site at: http://www.dvddemystified.com/dvdfaq.html

Hey I just got this e-mail from pioneer today with this link:

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/article/0,,2076_15020006_276332769,00.html

Sold me, if Pioneer (industry leader) is going to push blu-ray onto PC's and
standalone market
and they say it will continue to play existing DVD discs, then I like it! :)

Spring 2006, ok, we'll see. :)

One thing I'm confused about is the labeling? If it's dual sided, where do
you write on the disc? I guess you
need to remember to return it to its case then only.

Also i like the idea of making the plastic a hard coating that resists
fingerprints and scratches more than
current cd and dvd's do. That's a plus, if it's true.

You can buy hub labels that won't interfere with the data surface.

Exactly my sentiments also, people won't buy something that won't play
existing DVD's.
So it appears the Pioneer Blu-Ray will, I guess then that won't be an issue.
