Using VOB files in standard DVD player |
|
|
Hi,
I've recently got a movie which I want to burn to a DVD-R for use in
standard DVD players. However, the movie files I have are VOB, IFO and
BUP files and I'm not sure these will play if I simply burn them to
DVD.
Do I need to combine these files in someway before burning them if I
want the movie to play on a standard DVD player?
Thanks,
Djcooran

If you have Nero, use DVD-Video template, drag & drop the files you
have into Video_ts folder in Nero, set the label if you want to and
burn. I guess other burning programs will have some kind of DVD-Video
template, too. What you need is Video_ts & Audio_ts folders and ISO &
UDF descriptors. You may try playing the files you have from your HD,
before you actually burn the disc to see if the files are OK - "play
DVD from a folder" in most PC DVD players.

There is a freeware program called vob2mpg and it puts all your files that
are in the video_ts folder into one mpeg then your able to use nero vision
express and make it possible for the mpeg file to be converted into dvd
format then burn it to a blank dvd , job done. You will see the vob2mpg when
you scroll down the page and click on the freeware download part ,
