Hi,


I'm hoping that there might be someone who is a little better at
understanding instruction manuals than me! Have just brought a new
hitachi hi-fi (the ax-m69) and am having problems manually adjusting
the bass and trebble. The instruction manual says:


"Press the user button on the remote control, the "BASS" will display
on the VFD, then use the volume up/down buttons (VOL-/+) to adjust
effect."


I can't find a button called "user" on the remote and no other
combination of buttons that I have tried seems to work - has anybody
got an ideas what I'm doing wrong??? I can't find any support
information for the hi fi I have brought on the Hitachi website either.

Is there a button that says "bass"? How about one that says "tone"?

Go through the remote and press any button that you do not know the use
for, watching the display all the time. Sooner or late you'll see
something interesting.

Look for the 'PHD' button. The acronym means Push Here Dummy. :-)
